Horrific night in Manchester!
What else is there to say, The lads gave it their all but the Red Devils came away with three points on two Scott McTominay goals and dominated much of the 2nd half in what was a tight 1-1 contest until almost the 70th minute. An early foul in the box by Enzo Fernandez resulted in a penalty, but Robert Sanchez blocked Bruno Fernandes attempt keeping the match scoreless. It was a sign of things to come. United kept the pressure on playing some of their best football so far this season with a 3 to 1 shot to goal ratio against the Blues. Cole Palmer was one of the only stars of that night with a goal to level it at 1-1 assisted by Mykhailo Mudryk. But that was about it as United too control of the midfield and wreaked havoc on the left side with Garnacho & Luke Shaw. Reece James needed all the help to contain both including Moises Caicedo deployed as a right back to assist, but that didn’t help prevent the 2nd goals whipped in on a cross as McTominay headed in his 2nd & go ahead goal to seal it. Let’s forget about this one and move on.
Up next, another short three day rest & return up north to face Everton at Goodison Park. Everton defeated Newcastle 3-0 this week and are out of the relegation zone after getting 10 points deducted from the PL’s version of FFP. The boys have struggled in recent times up in Goodison, but hopefully it’ll be the last match there as Everton moves out of their grounds and into the newly built Everton Stadium starting next season.
Come on down to the Londoner Addison this Sunday morning and kick it with the Shed End Dallas crew. We look forward to seeing you there!
Cheers,
Shed End Dallas
