Carabao Cup Final Time!

The boys will be at Wembley this weekend to face Liverpool FC in a cup final match for the 1st time under the new ownership. The last result vs Liverpool was just three weeks ago and it was ugly, the team will be looking to redeem themselves and keep it competitive as in the last previous matches prior to this one.

It’s been a good run of form for last three matches, minus the disastrous result against Wolves to start the month. The last match ended in a 1-1 draw against current PL champions Manchester City where the lads gave it their all and nearly came out victorious, but a unfortunate deflection off Trevor Chalobah from a long distance Rodri shot in the final 10 minutes of time had the squad hanging on for that point. Overall, it was a good match and the recent match day adjustments that Mauricio Pochettino implemented has been overall positive.

Let build on that momentum and bring home a cup!

What an ugly defeat!

Embarrassing to say the least. VAR & the refs did not help matters with the questionable no calls on suspect penalties, but the boys came out flat vs Liverpool and didn’t muster much of any fight against their press in a 1-4 defeat. Matches are coming quick! A 3 day turnaround and another PL matchup vs Wolves is up next. They are coming off the short end of a high goal scoring affair vs Manchester United ending in 3-4. Let’s forget about this last match of January and start fresh in a new month!

Seven draws!

That is the current streak in this head to head matchup against Liverpool FC. Last time a match did not result in a draw was back in 2021 in PL action at Liverpool with the Blues coming up with a 1-nil victory. The lads will face the Scousers twice in a month’s time. First up will be a Premier League match away at Anfield in another midweek matchup.

WE ARE BACK!

The 2023-24 Chelsea FC season begins under Mauricio Pochettino & we also welcome new players: Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Malo Gusto, Andrey Santos, along with returning loanees: Levi Colwill & Ian Maatsen into the mix. There is a buzz to the team right now as we build up & fight back to return where we belong at the top of the league.

After a successful preseason tour in the USA and winning the PL Summer Series trophy, the boys will be tested in the first match of the season at home against Liverpool. Many players are still working to be PL match fit and we will likely see a mix of senior and youth players in the starting XI in the first few matches as we head into the fall season.

It’s an early morning start this weekend with a “big” mid-table matchup against 9th place Liverpool vs the 10th place Chels. The boys were able to get their 1st win of 2023 out of the way, a hard-fought match vs Crystal Palace. They played at home to a roaring crowd paying their respects to Gianluca Vialli. Also, the fans were introduced to the latest signing, Mykhailo Mudryk, which Boehly, Eghballi & team were able swoop in last minute and snatch from the Gooners. Let’s see if Mudryk will get feature in this mouthwatering matchup.
